Before you order: allergy notice
Our kitchen handles nuts and is not nut-free. We add nuts when you request them or when they’re part of the recipe you choose. For example, our carrot cake contains pecans, and our vegan cakes may contain almond milk. If you have a severe food allergy, please do not order from us.
What goes into our cakes?
Our classic cakes use flour, sugar, eggs, whole milk, oil, butter, vanilla extract, and other flavor extracts, depending on the recipe. Here are some ingredients that give individual flavors their character:
- Coconut: Coconut flakes.
- Carrot: Carrots and pecans.
- Almond: We use almond flavoring without adding chopped or whole nuts. We do not describe this cake as nut-free.
- Lemon: Lemon zest and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Strawberry: Strawberry jam.
- Chocolate and red velvet: Unsweetened cocoa powder and brewed coffee.
Specialty cake ingredients
- Vegan: We use almond milk or coconut milk and replace eggs with applesauce.
- Eggless: Applesauce replaces the eggs. Eggless does not necessarily mean dairy-free.
- Dairy-free: We use an egg-and-water mixture in place of milk. This recipe contains eggs.
- Sugar-free: We use monk fruit sweetener in place of sugar in the cake batter.
Our frostings
Classic buttercream: We whip butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Vegan and dairy-free buttercream: We whip plant-based butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Frosting for sugar-free cakes: We whip butter, heavy cream, and vanilla extract with a little monk fruit sweetener until light and fluffy. We don’t use powdered sugar in this frosting.
